Former BSP leader shot dead in Uttar Pradesh

Lucknow, July 19: A former Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) leader along with two others has been shot dead by unidentified assailants, here, on Friday morning.

According to reports, former BSP leader and ex-MLA Sarvesh Singh Seepu (35) alias ‘Tipu' was shot dead in Chiku locality in Jiyanpur area.

The incident took place when he was returning from the police station after pursuing a case, police said.

Seepu and one other died on the spot leading to tension in the area with angry locals thronging the police station demanding immediate arrest of the accused. The locals also pelted stones on the police station.

Heavy police force has been rushed to the spot to control the situation, where large number of people have gathered.

After Amar Singh parted ways with SP, Seepu had joined BSP and had contested last Assembly elections on BSP ticket from Sadar seat here.
