India hit by heavy rain and thundershowers (in Pics)

Bangalore, July 16: Southwest monsoon was active over east Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha and Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Rain and thundershowers have occurred at many places over Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Telangana and along the west coast.

Some of the other places to have received heavy rainfall include Himachal Pradesh, east Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Marathawada, Madhya Maharashtra, interior Karnataka, northeastern states and Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Rajasthan, Bihar, Jharkhand and Gujarat, however, remained dry.

Heavy to very heavy rainfall is likey to occur in a few places in Odisha, Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Chhattisgarh, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Konkan and Goa, coastal Karnataka and Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Weather conditions are likely to remain the same in the next few days.

Heavy rainfall would occur at isolated places over Coastal Karnataka and ghat areas of South Interior Karnataka during next 48 hours.
