Bhubaneswar, July 16: BJP leaders of Odisha are set to welcome Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi who is scheduled to visit the state on Tuesday morning. His chartered flight is due to land in Odisha around 9.15 am. From Odisha, Modi will go to Nagpur to meet RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat.
Modi, who is the chief of BJP's poll campaign committee, will proceed to Puri, about 65 kilometres from here. He will seek blessings of Lord Jagannath.
State BJP president Kanak Vardhan Singhdeo said on Monday that the state leaders of the party were eager to welcome Modi. They will also accompany him to Puri. The leader will also meet Sankaracharya and Gajapati king Divyasingha Dev, Singhadeo said it was a personal tour of Modi and nobody should read more into it.
He said although Modi will have a brief discussion with state party leaders over lunch in Puri, there will be no political talks.
The party's national general secretary and Rajya Sabha member Dharmendra Pradhan, however, indicated that the party could try to settle a few political issues during what is being projected as a private visit.
Pradhan said the Gujarat CM will seek Lord Jagannath's blessings for good governance and improvement of the condition of the people of India.
