Ahmedabad, July 16: It is because of the apprentice and the hard work of two California-return Indian boys that the country can now  boast of a Facebook-'desi' style. Brothers Amit Khanna (28) and Gaurav Khanna (30) have introduced Hammer, a public forum that caters to people of all ages.

People can generate ideas and post opinions here just like Facebook. However, here is the twist. "We see users from all age groups signing up, right from the age of 16 to 60 years. In order to make the site appeal to all age groups, we have added various categories like family, stock market, movies among others that covers the whole gamut,"said the duo.

Much to the interest of the family-oriented mentality in India, the forum is doing pretty well with 16000 users and 500 users signing up everyday since the last two months of its inception. This community assists users in getting and giving opinions and connecting them with people with similar interests. Exchanging ideas, opinions, and news are some of the other facilities that the forum offers.

Hailing from a business class family dealing in textile, the brothers had come back to India after their studies in California to join family business. After completing their degree in Business Economics and minors in Computer Science from California, they stayed abroad for 9 years to strengthen their knowledge on business and software development in the present context.

Having filed for a patent, the brothers are planning a smart phone app to cater to the people who are travelling.
