Mumbai, July 12: Legendary actor Pran passed away at the Lilavati Hospital here around 8.30 pm on Friday after prolonged illness. The actor, who was known for his strong negative and supporting roles, was 93.
He had acted in 361 films in a career spanning over six decades (1940s to 1990s). He was handed over the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in May this year.
The last rites of the veteran actor will be carried out at the Shivaji Park crematorium here on Saturday noon.
Pran was known for his memorable roles Bollywood hits like Madhumati, Ziddi, Ram Aur Shyam, Milan, Zanjeer, Don, among several others.
Pran was born as Pran Krishan Sikand on February 12, 1920, in Old Delhi. He has received several awards in his career. His favourite word 'Barkhurdaar' became immensely popular.
