Bhopal, July 10: 80-year-old Raghavji had locked himself in a flat located at Rashi Prabha Apartment in Bhopal. Police arrested the former minister and BJP leader in connection with the sex scandal which rocked Madhya Pradesh government.
According to police sources, Raghavji along with his wife and his niece's son Vivek were inside the flat when the cops barged into it and dragged the veteran out of the flat to take him to police station.
The police later produced Raghvji in a Bhopal court which sent him to judicial custody till July 22. The BJP leader along with his two other aides were accused of sexually harassing his domestic help Rajkumar Dangi. A sex-CD also has been submitted as evidence against the three accused.
Charges against the three accused were -- IPC sections 377 (voluntarily having carnal intercourse against the order of nature with any man, woman or animal), 506 B (threatening) and 34 (act done by several persons in furtherance of common intention).
Raghavji along with his family had gone missing soon after resignation as finance minister of the state. He was forced to resign from the cabinet when Dangi filed police complaint against him.
According to Raghavji, the man who has accused him of sexual exploitation worked part-time for him, occasionally massaged the minister's arms and legs, and had quit a month ago.
BJP recently suspended its senior leader Shiv Shankar Pateria from the primary membership of the party. Pateria invited wrath of the party leaders following his comment saying that he had a role in "exposing" the alleged immoral acts of Ragahvji.
