Antop Hill landslide: 2 dead and 4 trapped
Mumbai, July 10: In a landslide today at Antop Hill in Mumbai, two people have died and one is critically injured. While three people have reportedly been rescued, four are still trapped.
A team of 40 members has been sent to the site for rescue operations. "It has been raining since yesterday night and the landslide happened in a place that is prone to landslides," said one of the members in the team. The incident took place at 8 am today.
Many parts of the country are receiving heavy rainfall in the past few days and latest forecasts imply that the weather conditions are going to be the same in the next 48 hours. Mumbai witnessed light showers on Tuesday night; however, there was considerable rainfall in Colaba with 22 mm and Santacruz with 24 mm.
