Weather: Southwest monsoon active over karnataka
Bangalore, July 8: Southwest monsoon is active over Himachal Pradesh, Sub Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Konkan and Goa, and coastal Karnataka.
Rain and thundershowers have occurred at most places over Konkan, Goa, coastal Karnataka, Kerala, Himachal Pradesh and Andaman and Nicobar islands. Some of the other regions affected by heavy rains include Uttar Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir, Saurashtra and Kutchh and Lakshadweep.
Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura, Odisha, Bihar, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, interior Maharashtra and east Rajasthan and some isolated areas West Madhya Pradesh, Tamilnadu, interior Karnataka, Punjab and Haryana have also received rainfalls.
Forecast for next 3 days
Rain and thundershowers are likely to occur in most part of the states in the next three days. Some of the states to be affected by it include Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, east Madhya Pradesh, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, and Lakshadweep.
Heavy to very heavy rain is likely to occur at isolated places over Coastal Karnataka and the ghat areas of South Interior Karnataka, during the next 48 hours.
