The group of social activists, advocates and the common people have created a page "Justice for Ishrat Jahan Now" which is one of the fastest spreading pages in the facebook and have already hit more than 1,000 likes in just few days of its creation.
Posts like 'Don't Spare the Conspirators,' 'I am Ishrat, age 19, college student and killed by Gujarat Crime Branch' or 'Uncover the full conspiracy', 'punish the killers and conspirators' and many other slogans had been posted on the wall of this page. Even the social activist-actor Shabana Azmi too shared the page on her social network site and raising a discussion in bringing the justice to the families who lost their family members.
The inputs provided by Rajendra Kumar the senior IB officer to the state police, Irshat Jahan along with the other three Javed Shaikh alias Pranesh Pillai, Amjadali Akbarali Rana and Zeeshan Johar were killed in the encounter near Ahmedabad allegedly by a team of Crime Branch officials on June 15, 2004. It was claimed that the team of four had come to kill the Gujarat Chief minister Narendra Modi.
CBI will file a charge sheet on Wednesday in the 2004 Ishrat Jahan fake encounter case and is likely to name only those policemen who were at the scene of crime besides seeking more time in a bid to probe the conspiracy angle behind the incident.
