New Delhi, June 27: King Mohammed of Morocco has condoled the death of hundreds in the Uttarakhand floods.

In a letter to President Pranab Mukherjee, the king offered "sincere condolences and deepest sympathy" to the families of the hundreds who have died or are missing.

"May the victims of this tragedy rest in peace. We share your grief and wish the injured a speedy recovery," he wrote.

The Uttarakhand tragedy has become an international news because of the magnitude of loss of life and property. The Indian armed forces have also shot to fame due to their undying service to their countrymen.

Rescue operations are still on and are expected to get over within the next two days. Thousands of people are still stuck in the nearby regions of Kedarnath, without food, water and medicine for eleven days.

The official death toll has risen to about 800 and hundred others are still missing. The defence forces are doing their best to rescue the stranded.
