Such allegation has been brought by one of JD(U)'s own leader Shivraj Singh. Singh has been known to be a supporter of Modi and has been critical about his party's decision to oppose the latter. The leader called for a probe into the matter and even said that he had adequate evidence to back his claim.
Singh said the Bihar chief minister also harboured prime ministerial ambition and was hell bent to end all ties with the BJP and even indicate at joining a federal front. He accused Kumar of being opportunistic and blackmailing both the Congress and BJP.
Singh said they were ready to discuss on the issue of secularism with the BJP but said the chief minister was not ready for it. Kumar has been critical of Modi and expressed his preference for a secular prime ministerial candidate for the NDA.
Singh blasted Kumar, saying the latter cheated everyone in the party and did not allow anybody to speak against his opinion.
