Srinagar, June 2: Bollywood director-producer Karan Johar and his team invited wrath of Jammu Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah. The CM was disappointed with Karan's recent movie Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (YJHD) where Gulmarg has been shown as Manali.
Lead characters of the movie -- Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone and others were, according to the movie script, had gone for an adventurous trip to Manali. However, in reality, the scenes were shot in Gulmarg.
Upset over Karan Johar and YJHD director Ayan Mukherjee, Abdullah tweeted, "It is irritating when we roll out the red carpet and facilitate the shoot only to have people believe its Manali."
The CM also asked all viewers to notice whether Karan Johar has given any credit to his state. Criticising the team, Abdullah turned up to micro-blogging site Twitter and wrote, "If anyone has seen the movie can you tell me whether they have at least mentioned the state in the credits (opening or closing) #YJHD."
"Those of you planning to visit Manali because of what you saw in #YJHD except for the temple and Span resort it's all Gulmarg," added Omar while praising scenic beauty of the valley.
Meanwhile, well-known journalist Smita Prakash on Twitter claimed, "#YJHD shot in Kashmir & film passes it off as Manali. Haha! The ugly days are over when one had to shoot in Manali & pass it off as Kashmir."
