IPL Fixing: Now Suresh Raina comes under police scanner?

Lucknow, May 29: Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Team India player Suresh Raina reportedly has come under police scanner in alleged connection with IPL spot fixing scandal.

According to Uttar Pradesh Police sources, total eleven players from the state have come under scanner. The players, who have played IPL 6, are -- Suresh Raina, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Rudra Pratap Singh, Praveen Kumar, Piyush Chawla, Ali Murtaza, Imtiaz Ahmed, Ankit Singh Rajput and Eklavya Dwivedi.

Media reports quoted Arun Kumar ADG (Law and Order), Uttar Pradesh Police, as saying, "We are working independently on the leads provided by our agencies and so far we have successfully busted gangs involved in betting in Varanasi, Meerut, Kanpur and Ghaziabad. It's true we are continuing our investigations and several people involved in the racket are on our radar."

Continuing his statement, Arun Kumar added, "Right now, we can't share the details of the investigations, and people involved in spot-fixing and betting are likely to be nabbed soon."

However, contrary to this media report, different sources quoted UP Police as saying, "No UP player in under our scanner. We are probing the case related to bookies arrested in the state."

According to sources, arrested small time Bollywood actor Vindoo Dara Singh has revealed more players and Bollywood celebrities alleged involvement in the fixing row. CSK owner Gurunath Meiyappan was arrested following Vindoo's statement.
