Bangalore: Bomb scare at IIM campus, security beefed up
Bangalore, May 23: Security has been beefed up at the campus of Indian Institute of Management (IIM) in Bangalore on Thursday, May 23.
According to sources, someone called and threatened IIM authorities to blow up the campus which is situated at Bannerghatta road at the hub of the garden city.
Bangalore police and bomb disposal squad rushed to the campus of one of the top public business schools in the country. Police sources informed that they have been searching the entire campus. However, it was not clear whether it was a hoax call or the call had some link with terror group.
Recently,
the
city
had
experienced
a
terror
attack
when
at
least
sixteen
people
including
eight
police
officials
received
severe
injuries
during
bomb
blasts
outside
BJP
headquarter
at
Malleswaram
on
April
17.
The Union home ministry had confirmed it to be an act of terror and the Union Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde ordered an inquiry.
