Karnataka Polls
Bangalore, May 7: The fates of political parties are sealed in Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), as Karnataka is eagerly waiting for the results of Karnataka Assembly Elections 2013.

The poll results will be out on May 8 (Wednesday).

Exit polls show that Congress is most likely to emerge as winner in the election battle, as the anti-incumbency factor against BJP is riding high in the state.

A 70.23 per cent voter turnout was recorded on Sunday (May 5) in the high-stake Karnataka Assembly elections amid projections that the ruling BJP was on a slippery ground against a resurgent Congress.

But, the regular voters of Karnataka are not bothered whether Congress or BJP will manage the affairs at Vidhana Soudha (the seat of state legislature in Karnataka). All they want is development and progress in the state. And of course the regular residents of the state are tired of corruption regime under BJP rule for last five years.

"We want a corruption free state," said an NGO worker in Bangalore Subha Gowda.

The wish list of Bangaloreans includes better traffic management, end of garbage mis-management, development of roads, solution to scarcity of drinking water, attention to power shortage problems and safety and security to the city's population.

The Karnataka poll result is keenly watched at the national level, as it is seen as the semi-final round for the next General Elections, slated in May 2014,

At a time when Congress-led UPA government has come under severe criticism for large-number of corruption cases surfacing during its tenure, rise in prices of essential commodities and lack of safety of women across the country.

Under such circumstances, opposition BJP and its coalition partners in NDA are looking to form the government at the centre.

Like the people of Karnataka, there is no doubt people across India want a party to head the country which can take us to the path of development and bring an end to the laundering of public money by politicians.
