New Delhi, April 29: Congress-led UPA government at the Centre has come under attack by one of its allies Samajwadi Party (SP) over Chinese incursion in Ladakh. The SP supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav on Monday (April 29) in Parliament blasted the government and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for being "cowardly" while dealing with Chinese attack on Indian territory.

"I have been raising this issue for the past eight years. I had warned that that there will be a repeat of 1962. I even went and met the Prime Minister in his chamber, yet there was no response. Now, Salman Khursid is going to China. To do what? Beg before them?" Yadav said in Lok Sabha.

"China has taken our land and our government is going to beg the neighbouring country to return the land seized by it, but it will not relent," SP supremo added.

Yadav heavily came down upon Prime Minister Singh for being ineffective in dealing with the situation.

SP leader said, "I don't know why the Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh has not seriously raised any question about the Chinese incursion in Ladakh and the other parts of the country."

Singh even slammed the Congress government for not ordering the country's armed forces to give a befitting reply to China over the issue.

"Why is the government not giving orders to the armed forces to stop this incursion by China," he questioned.

Describing China as the "biggest enemy", the former Defence Minister said during Zero Hour, "We have been warning that China has started occupying our territory. But government is not listening to all this."

He said the Indian Army has said it is ready to remove all intruders but there is no action.

"This government is cowardly, incompetent and good for nothing," he said, while objecting to the upcoming visit of Khurshid to China.

Khurshid is scheduled to travel to Beijing on May 9 in connection with preparations for Chinese Premier Li Keqiang's visit here next month.
