New Delhi, April 24: 19-year-old Pradeep Kumar, second accused in rape of a 5-year-old toddler case, revealed that he had raped the girl even after she fell unconscious and was bleeding profusely.

Pradeep's statement also revealed truth and helped Delhi police to nab the main accused Manoj Kumar who initially had tried to put all blame saying while Pradeep alone had raped the girl, he remained a bystander.

However, the investigation revealed that both Manoj and Pradeep had brutalised the toddler at the former's residence at Gandhi Nagar in East Delhi on April 15.

After committing the heinous crime, both accused had fled to their hometowns in Bihar and later were brought back to the national capital post their arrests.

A Delhi court on Tuesday, April 23 sent Pradeep to 4-day police custody. Manoj has been lodged in Tihar jail. The two accused reportedly told police that they had abducted and raped the toddler after watching a porn movie.

The child was playing outside Manoj's room and the two accused invited her inside the room on the pretext of giving chocolate. The two men also said that they had repeatedly raped the girl.

According to their statements, Manoj asked Pradeep to kill the toddler. Pradeep strangled the victim and left the place thinking the girl was dead. Both Manoj and Pradeep hail from Bihar and became friends during their journey from Bihar to Delhi. After committing the crime, they fled to their hometown from where Delhi police arrested them and brought them back to the national capital.

The five-year-old girl was abducted on April 15 and kept hostage without food and water in a room in which the attacker lived.

The victim, who is currently under treatment at AIIMS hospital in the national capital, is believed to have recovered from her injuries.

DK Sharma, the hospital medical superintendent, was quoted as saying, "She slept well on Saturday night, and is alert, conscious and speaking to her parents. Her vital parameters are stable, and the colostomy tube is functioning well. At this stage, as such there is no danger to her life."
