New Delhi, April 23: 19-year-old Pradeep Kumar, the second accused of rape of a 5-year-old girl, has been sent to police custody till April 27. Cops produced Pradeep in a Delhi court on Tuesday when the court sent him to 4-day custody.

The main accused Manoj Kumar has been lodged in Tihar jail and it was speculated that Pradeep too would be brought to the same prison. The two accused reportedly told police that they had abducted and raped the toddler after watching a porn movie.

Manoj, during police interrogation, revealed that he along with another accused 19-year-old Pradeep Kumar consumed alcohol at his residence at East Delhi. Then the duo watched porn on Pradeep's mobile phone following which the two committed the heinous crime.

The child was playing outside Manoj's room and the two accused invited her inside the room on the pretext of giving chocolate. The two men also said that they had repeatedly raped the girl.

According to their statements, Manoj asked Pradeep to kill the toddler. Pradeep strangled the victim and left the place thinking the girl dead.

Both Manoj and Pradeep hail from Bihar and became friends during their journey from Bihar to Delhi. After committing the crime, they fled to their hometown from where Delhi police arrested them and brought them back to the national capital.

The five-year-old girl was abducted on April 15 and kept hostage without food and water in a room in which the attacker lived.

The victim, who is currently under treatment at AIIMS hospital in the national capital, is believed to have recovered from her injuries.

DK Sharma, the hospital medical superintendent, was quoted as saying, "She slept well on Saturday night, and is alert, conscious and speaking to her parents. Her vital parameters are stable, and the colostomy tube is functioning well. At this stage, as such there is no danger to her life."
