BSF seizes heroin worth Rs 250 cr in Punjab in 2 days
The latest drug haul comes after the massive one in Mohali recently in which heroin worth Rs 130 crore was seized. Olympic medal-winning boxer Vijender Singh was allegedly involved in the case. However, he was later given clean chit after he tested negative for consuming banned substances.
The BSF has so far recovered 91 kg of heroin from near the Indo-Pak border in Punjab this year.
Fake currency notes found
The BSF on Tuesday also found fake currency notes with face value of Rs 4.8 lakh from near the Indo-Pak border in Punjab's Ferozpur district. BSF sources said their personnel had noticed some suspicious movement along the fence in Khemkaran and on being pursued, the intruders ran towards the Pakistani side leaving behind the drugs and the fake currency notes.
