Boston blasts: Investigators get early leads
The FBI has been checking surveillance cameras in the area and issued subpoenas for records from mobile towers in the area to isolate and trace calls made from around Copley Square at the time of the blasts, an official said.
It was also learnt that sleuths have warned police officers to look for a dark-skinned or black male with a possible foreign accent in connection with the bombing, which killed three and injured over 140 people.
The man was seen with a black backpack and sweatshirt and was trying to enter the restricted area about minutes before the first explosion took place, a law enforcement advisory said.
