Modi Rahul
New Delhi, April 6: Yes, now, we voters realise that elections are coming soon. The political discourse among the rival political parties are a testimony to the fact. And, shameful that the kind of mudslinging they engages into gives a sad and sordid picture of political culture in the country.

Most of the conversations between Congress and opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) veers around personal attacks.

Instead of discussing issues like corruption and rise in inflation rate in the country, political parties are busy making personal attacks on each other.

Take for instance how Congress compared Chief Minister of Gujarat Narendra Modi with Yamraj (the god of death) on Friday, April 6.

What does it signifies? Our politicians are nothing less than immature bunch of jokers throwing mud on each other.

Earlier, Congress president Sonia Gandhi had called Modi "merchant of death" in the run-up to 2007 Assembly elections.

Her comments backfired and Congress had to face a humiliating defeat in the elections.

Recently, Union steel minister Beni Prasad Verma had called Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav a "terrorist".

Similarly, BJP on several occasions had attacked Sonia Gandhi's Italian origin to show that she is unfit to lead the country, as Congress president is not an Indian born.

Earlier, Modi has labelled Minister of State for Human Resource Development Shashi Tharoor's wife as a "Rs 50 crore girlfriend".

"Wah kya girlfriend hai. Apne kabhi dekha hai 50 crore ka girlfriend?" (What a girlfriend?. Have you ever seen a 50-crore girlfriend)," Modi said at an election rally, in an apparent attack on Tharoor's wife Sunanda Pushkar.
