Delhi gangrape: Accused life in danger?
"One of the Delhi police constables is threatening to kill and hang me. The constable also abuses me in filthy language regularly inside the jail," Akshay said in a quivering voice to Additional Sessions Judge (ASJ) Yogesh Khanna.
After Akshay's submission, his counsel A P Singh requested the court to take action against the cop saying it was a matter of serious concern for him as well. "Wo aisa insaan hai ki jo fanssi nahi lagana chahta hai, wo use bhi fansi laga de (He, the constable, is that kind of a person who can hang a man)," Akshay said.
After taking note of what the accused said, they have asked Akshay's counsel to 'file a proper application so that the Tihar jail authorities could be informed about the incident and file their response to it'.
Meanwhile, Vinay Sharma who will be appearing for the Indian Air Force recruitment test if granted permission can attend it only in judicial custody.
The inquiry into allegations that the Delhi gang-rape incident had occurred due to "corrupt" activities in the state transport department, which allowed the bus to ply illegally, is pending for want of information from the department, Delhi Police today told a court.
Ram Singh, the main accused in the case was found hanging in Tihar jail in March. However, his family alleged foul play. Ram Singh, along with five other men brutally gang-raped and assaulted a 23-year-old paramedical student before throwing her out of a moving bus in the national capital on December 16, 2012. Later the victim died at a Singapore hospital on December 29, 2012.
