Gandhi's latest visit comes just a month ahead of the Karnataka assembly polls during which she is expected to campaign extensively in the state. The state polls are scheduled for May 5 while the results will be declared on May 8. The Congress president had left the country on Sunday, a day after finalising the list of candidates for the Karnataka polls. The party is, however, yet to release the list even after Gandh gave her clearance.
The Congress president, who is also the chairperson of ruling coalition UPA, is expected to return in the second week of April.
