Bangalore priest murder: Police say it was well-planned
The incident came to light on Monday morning. Although the police initially suspected it to be a robbery bid which was foiled, they are now looking at other possibilites which could be the reason behind the murder.
According to media reports, the police are ruling out that robbery could have been a reason for the murder since an i-pad and a mobile phone were found intact in his room.
Incidentally, this incident took place just a kilometre away from the police station. Police suspect it was a well- planned murder. The priest was hit with a 'blunt object' on his head. He also had an 'L- shaped injury on his forehead and a cut on the nose bridge'.
According to investigators, the 'priest was killed in a paved open yard in the middle of the seminary. The assailants later dragged and dumped the body inside the room, and cleaned the bloodstains in the yard with Thomas' cassock. The rain appeared to have washed away most of the blood, leaving behind a faint red mark, indicating the body had been dragged'.
Police suspect that there were 3 assailants. Although there were 2 security guards they were asleep during the incident. The assailants climbed up the compound wall and gained entry.
A fortnight ago, three miscreants had attacked a security guard was attacked when he resisted their attempt to enter the premises at midnight.
