Criticising the act, Mona Singh urged media people not to give publicity to the people who might have intended to receive fame over the gruesome act.
The actress, who sought to fame after her TV serial "Jassi Jaisi Koi Nehi", said, "As members of the media, journalists and editors should also take a stand against such acts and not provide the culprits with the publicity that they are hoping for as the outcome of their dastardly acts."

If today this can happen to me, it can happen to any innocent girl and things like this can ruin lives and careers forever. This is a very serious issue and it needs to stop."
Earlier Mumbai police, who are investigating into the case, suspected that the culprit(s) is known to the Bollywood actress who claimed that her face was morphed in the video.

"No one, and I mean no one, would want this kind of cheap and disgraced publicity," added Mona. Meanwhile, model-turned-actor Vidyut Jamwal, who is known to close to the TV star, claimed that Mona did not suspect any acquaintance to be behind the "disgraceful act".
