Rain
New Delhi/Bangalore, March 29: Rain lashed across national capital for second day in a row on Friday (March 29), while rising temperature in India's IT hub is causing discomfort to the residents of the IT hub.

The entire city of Delhi soaked in rain, as the minimum temperature settled a notch below average at 17.5 degrees Celsius on Friday.

The Met Office had predicted rain in the city later in the day.

The maximum temperature on Friday is expected to hover around 30 degrees Celsius, an India Meteorological Department (IMD) official said.

But, in India's tech-hub, temperature has touched an all time high of 36.4 degree Celsius in the month of March.

Met department says this year Bangalore has recorded highest temperature in the month of March in last eight years.

The mercury soared to 36.4 degrees Celsius on Thursday (March 28) afternoon. The last time Bangalore recorded this level was in 2005.

"The day temperature could touch about 40 degrees Celsius in April. The temperature has increased over the past two days due to less cloud building and absence of strong wind, which is characteristic of the Bangalore weather.

We expect light showers in south-interior Karnataka, but that would be more in the ghat areas," says B Puttanna, director-in-charge, Bangalore Meteorology department.

Agrometereologist M B Rajegowda notes: "Weak north-east monsoon, early onset of summer and higher day temperature in winter are some factors for the rise in mercury levels this year. With such a rise in temperature, it's likely to rain some time by the end of this week. The heat will develop a low pressure area and will bring rain to the city."
