The clash was so bad that it prompted chief minister Mamata Banerjee to order the arrest of Trinamool Congress councillor allegedly involved in it. A probe into the clash has been ordered.
According to the police, the clash between the two groups was over a vacant piece of land at Dhapa and one of the groups was allegedly led by local TMC councillor S Kaur.
The police added that while one is battling for life the other person involved in the clashwas seriously injured in the clash later died in the hospital.
"I have already ordered the police to arrest Kaur. Law will take its own course. I don't spare anyone if anyone commits any mistake," Banerjee was quoted as saying.
It doesn't matter to me whether the wrongdoer belongs to my party or some other party. I am not like CPI(M). Anyone who commits a mistake will be punished," she said
