New Delhi, March 18: The probe into Ram Singh's suicide, the main accused in the December 16 Delhi gang-rape case, which is underway has nailed 3 jail officials guilty of not performing their duties.

A jail warden who was in charge of keeping an eye on 20 inmates including Singh skipped his eight- hours shift on March 10- 11. A warden who at the rank of assistant jail superintendent and a watchguard have also been pulled up for negligence. "According to the CCTV footage, that particular night, the warden apparently stayed immobile at his position," said another source.

"As a result, it was a security guard of the Tamil Nadu Special police - which secures the prison's inner perimeter - who found Singh hanging at 5.45am on Monday," said the source.

Last Monday, Ram Singh, the main accused in the case was found hanging in Tihar jail. However, his family alleges foul play. They fear for their younger son, Mukesh who is also one of the accused in the same case. Ram Singh, along with five other men brutally gang-raped and assaulted a 23-year-old paramedical student before throwing her out of a moving bus in the national capital on December 16, 2012. Later the victim died at a Singapore hospital on December 29, 2012.
