The senior Mohanty on Saturday, March 16 was grilled by Kerala police who later gave him clean cheat saying, "We could not get any evidence against BB Mohanty. He has no role to play in impersonation and forgery cases against his son Bitti."
However, speaking about their investigation, the Kerala police officials were quoted as saying, "He (BB Mohanty) identified Bitti after seeing the photographs we showed to him."
With the senior Mohanty's latest revelation, it seems that Bitti's game with dual identification has come to an end. Bitti is the son of former Odisha DGP BB Mohanty and until now it was believed that he helped his son jump parole. Earlier, Bitti was sentenced to seven years of imprisonment for raping a 26-year-old German tourist in Alwar, Rajasthan.
When he was allowed a 15-day parole to meet his ailing mother in 2006 Bitti jumped parole and was absconding since then. The former Odisha DGP was suspended and arrested on the charge of helping and hiding his son. But he was later reinstated in service and retired in 2012.
Bitti recently has been arrested from Kerala. He was taken to Rajasthan and underwent fingerprint test. Despite all evidences against him, Bitti has been maintaining his previous statement saying he is not Bitti but Raghav Rajan.
