Media houses to fight for Acharya Habba cricket crown

Bangalore, March 13: Acharya Habba is back with its media cricket tournament this year as well. The tournament is gaining in popularity with each passing year and the fifth edition this year is also expected to be a huge hit.

Acharya Media Cup 2013 will feature 18 media houses of the city. A number of media organisations have tried their best to win an entry into the tournament, which shows how much it impact it has made on the media industry. The participating teams have won entry into the competition on the 'first come, first serve' basis.

Corporate and media professionals will be seen giving their best on the turf both with the bat and ball during the three-day cricket tournament starting March 15. The matches of the tournament, organised by Acharya Habba, an initiative by Acharya Institutes, Bangalore, will be held at Smt. Nagaratnamma stadium, Acharya Institutes.

The tournament will see prizes for men of the match, best batsmen, bowlers and fielders. The winning team will be awarded with a cash prize of Rs 30,000 while the runners-up will get Rs 20,000.

Kannada Prabha and The New Indian Express are the print partners of this year's tournament while OneIndia is the online partner. Janashri News Kannada and 104 FM Fever are the TV and radio partners, respectively.
