UP DSP murder: How shocking revelations embarrass Akhilesh
According to the postmortem report, Haq, the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), was beaten and dragged along the ground before being shot dead at Kunda village on Saturday, March 2.
The postmortem reports also claimed that Haq's body was marked by "lacerated wounds and abrasions" and that he died of "hemorrhage and shock" from a gunshot wound to the right of his chest.
However, the bullet, which was used to kill him, is missing and it is yet to be confirmed whether he was shot from his gun. Haq's revolver too is missing, informed the Uttar Pradesh police who announced that they would continue the investigation till its being taken over by CBI.
The young CM of the state had vowed to give stringent punishment to the culprit(s) and also ordered a probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). Meanwhile, sources informed that other police officials, who had fled leaving Haq alone to face his attackers, would be sacked soon.
The main accused Raja Bhaiya had resigned from Akhilesh's cabinet and claimed innocence. The accused is an Independent MLA and local strongman from Kunda where Haq had gone to investigate another murder case of the village pradhan (head).
Akhilesh's government has been criticised citing the inaction against Raja Bhaiya who has not been questioned yet regarding Haq's murder.
