Raja Bhaiya
Lucknow, March 4: Finally, controversial Uttar Pradesh minister Raja Bhaiya resigned from his post as state's Food and Civil Supplies Minister on Monday, March 4.

Raghuraj Pratap Singh alias Raja Bhaiya has been booked for the murder of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Zia-ul-Haq.

Now, the question is will he be arrested?

The Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Raja Bhaiya submitted his resignation to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav. After top cop's widow filed a case against Raja Bhaiya, Kunda police registered an FIR (first information report) against him. The MLA has been booked under section 120(b) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Haq's wife Parveen Azad accused four associates of the minister - Gulshan Yadav (chairman, Kunda nagar panchayat), Hari Om Shankar Srivastava (Raja Bhaiya's representative), and Guddu Singh and Rohit Singh (drivers of the minister) - of being involved in her husband's murder.

Earlier, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati accused the SP government in UP in indulging in criminal activities and saving criminals. She demanded President's rule in Uttar Pradesh. "Even after a year in office, the Samajwadi Party (SP) has not been able to get its act together. If police are not secure, what can common people expect?," asked Mayawati.

SP Chief Mulayam Singh Yadav in reply to Mayawati's allegations said, "They have no moral right to speak as BSP's MLAs themselves have been involved in the crime and rape cases."
