Kohima, March 2: Neiphiu Rio, who is all set to become the chief minister of Nagaland for three time in a row is a happy man. But, he faces the daunting task of making all his winning MLAs happy too.

Sources say all the winning party men of Nagaland Peoples Front (NPF) wants to have a cabinet berth. Elections results show, a total of 38 seats have been won by NPF. Moreover, there is one MLA each from BJP and JD (U), which together are going to form the government in the state under the coalition of Democratic Alliance of Nagaland (DAN).

But, the fact is that there are only 11 cabinet berths for Rio to offer to the winning MLAs. Moreover, Rio has already promised his allies to offer them cabinet berths. Under such a situation, Rio has to sacrifice the wish of his party men, by denying them plump posts in the cabinet.

Although, officially nobody is ready to make any comments on the issue, but sources say it will leave many NPF leaders disappointed.

Now, may be Rio has to offer posts of parliamentary secretaries and chairpersons to his winning MLAs.

A first time MLA from NPF, who did not want to be named said the situation is complex.

"Hope Rio can make everyone happy. Obviously, all MLAs want to get a cabinet seat. But, it is up to Rio whom to include and exclude," he said.
