Mukesh Ambani
Mumbai, Feb 28: A threat letter to Reliance Industries head Mukesh Ambani has got the police into a tizzy. The crime branch has now tightened security for the industrialist. While Ambani has received a threat from the Indian Mujahideen, who claim they will carry out a terror attack on his house in South Mumbai the police are unsure of it's authenticity.

The letter addressed to Ambani stated that they would harm him or his residence for his support to Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi. According to reports, the letter stated that Ambani had 'hurt the minority community's sentiments by supporting Modi and blamed him for grabbing Waqf board property, where his residence is built'. It also said that the 'IM is upset over Ambani's heavy investment in Gujarat'.

The letter was hand-delivered to his residence. According to sources, the crime branch has collected CCTV footage to identify the person who handed over the letter. However, what comes as a surprise is how the person got passed the tight security.

Although the letter claimed that it was from a member of the Indian Mujahideen, sources said that the letter does not carry the logo.

The letter also reportedly demands the release of arrested Indian Mujahideen operative Danish.

A complaint in this regard has been filed by Reliance vice-president S P Nanda, a retired colonel who advises the company on security issues
