Hyderabad, Feb 25: The Andhra Pradesh capital will now wake up to the security culture of frisking and survelliance. Subjected to repeated terror attacks, and considering the growth of Hyderabad, the city police have directed all cinema halls, shopping malls, major hotels, business establishments and large buildings to install metal detectors and CCTVs (close circuit televisions).

Hyderabad Police Commissioner Anurag Sharma on Monday issued the orders directing the commerical and government establishments to put in place security measures and secure customers and people visiting the premises.

They have been directed to ensure complete frisking of people and not to allow parking of vehicles in front of the buildings.

The police commissioner order covers cinema halls, shopping malls, star hotels, lodges, big establishments, entertainment places and large government/private buildings in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad.
The orders came in the wake of Thursday's twin bomb blasts at the crowded Dilsukh Nagar area, killing 16 people and injuring more than 115 others.

The malls, hotels and commercial establishments will install door-frame metal detector at all entry points. "Install closed-circuit TVs for observing and recording suspicious movements/ activities, the recordings of which have to be kept in safe custody for a minimum period of one month," "the commissioner's order said.

Hyderabad has seen rapid growth in the last one decade and there are many malls spread over Banjara Hills, Jubilee Hills and the IT corridor from Madhapur to new airport road.
