New Delhi, Feb 20: It is not every day that students of a college get to meet Prime Minister David Cameron and Bollywoood star Aamir Khan under the same roof at the same time.

However, on Tuesday, Feb 19, around 300 students at the Janki Devi Memorial College in central Delhi had the opportunity to meet both Cameron and Khan together. The British Prime Minister and Bollywood actor talked about importance of women empowerment in Indian society. Their visit lasted for around 45-minutes, where they had a free interaction with the students.

Their visit to a women's college holds great importance at a time when everyone in the nation is demanding gender equality in the society. After the brutal Delhi gang-rape and murder of a 23-year-old paramedical student in the national capital, everyone is demanding greater security for women. Moreover, everyone is stressing for change in mentality of people.

Most of the queries from the students during the interaction were related to women issues, the actor told media after the end of the meeting.

"The patriarchal thinking is to blame for the status of women in society. We are all born with it. The feeling that men are superior," the 47-year-old actor told reporters.

"We have to deal with the problem in a mature manner. We have to stop first the girl child being killed, then we have to bring her at par with facilities there for the male child," he added.

Regarding the question whether movies are the medium to make people understand about this issue he replied "Dealing with patriarchy is not easy. It is a gradual process. You have to win people over through whatever medium you can like -- movies, culture and art".

Both Cameron and Khan were seen enjoying the interaction with students. Moreover, students expressed their great love and woo for both the "star" visitors to their campus.
