 Buses ply in Bangalore
Bangalore, Feb 20: Although, not in full strength, BMTC buses are plying in Bangalore. While buses in Bangalore are fewever than usual, they haven't completely gone off the road as expected. Although Bangalore Traffic Police (BTP) on their facebook page has warned the city of public transport being off the road, there are many comments by citizens which say that Bangaloreans are going ahead with their routine schedule without any disruption in bus services.

"Today due to Bharat bandh, public transport and auto rickshaws will not be available for service. Citizens using own vehicles requested to be careful and please follow traffic rules," reads the status.

However, comments which follow inlcude, Anil Kumar " Buses are running as usual", Arunraj Appatt said "Dear BTP, this is not a Bharath Bandh.... it is only trade union strike. They are not forcing anyone to not work or stay off roads.. Kudos to Bangalore public for getting on with their normal life!"

Chandrasekar Radhakrishnan has commented "What bundh.... Saw several buses on the road, and autos are moving around as well. Nice day for a drive

Even BTP later said that there are a couple of buses plying.

Trade unions participating in the strike include Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS), All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC), All India United Trade Union Centre (AIUTUC), Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU), Indian National Trade Union Congress (INTUC) among others.
