Bangalore sessions crucial for BJP and team India

Bjp and Dhoni
Bangalore, Feb 16: The Silicon Valley of India is hosting two preparatory meeting of totally nature and genre but crucial for both the entities today. The ruling BJP is holding a party meeting to prepare for local bodies polls and assembly elections at Palace grounds and few kms away at Chinnaswamy stadium the Indian cricket team is having training camp before the tough Australia series.

After managing to complete five years in office as first BJP government in South India, the party is facing semi-final on March 7 when elections for over 200 urban local bodies is being held. The final is in May assembly elections. But the semi-final will either break or build the party as the BJP has traditionally been an urban party and the quantum of success in local bodies will be a measure of its unpopularity and give it an opportunity to cover the ground for the finals in May.

For the Indian cricket team, every series is like a final as the criket crazy nation has enormous appetite. This Australian series is all the important for Inda as it comes after below average performance during the recent series with the England. The first Test against Australia is at Chennai on February 22. Like the BJP, the leadership of MS Dhoni has been sujected to various credibility issue and the team also harbours dissensions within on the lines of the BJP.

Early this week, when the Karnataka Legislative assembly adjourned, it was the last session of the 13th Assembly constituted after the election in 2008. In the last five years, the survival of the BJP government has been nothing short of a miracle as it faced hurdles and problems right from day one.

Even the fortunes of the Indian team has been like a roller coaster ride. Few good victories and sudden losses has been the story of Dhoni's men, who sometimes play like boys on the beach.

The Australia series should be able to restore the pride of the team and resolve some of the leadership issues and likewise the local bodies polls could throw up a strategy for the BJP to face the Assembly elections.
