Hyderabad: Now, Owaisi becomes victim of Hate Speech

Owaisi and Togadia
Hyderabad, Feb 5: Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) legislator Akbaruddin Owaisi seems to have tasted his own medicine. Now, he has become a victim of hate speech delivered by VHP leader Praveen Togadia.

Hyderabad police has been investigating a YouTube video which has gone viral on internet featuring Togadia allegedly calling Owaisi "kutta" (dog). According to sources, Togadia did not name Owaisi but has allegedly had abused the MIM leader during a meeting in Adilabad district on Feb 1. Ironically, Owaisi himself had made his controversial hate speech at the same place on Dec 24.

A complaint has been filed against Togadia, however, police are yet to register any case against the VHP leader. Togadia allegedly had delivered the hate speech as a response to Owaisi's statement where he had threatened a particular religious group.

Owaisi is currently behind the bar. The Nirmal Town Police in Adilabad district had charged him with sedition, promoting enmity between different communities and waging war against the nation.

Protesting against the MIM MLA's statement, VHP and Bajrang Dal workers earlier had attacked the Lok Sabha MP and MIM supremo Asaduddin's house at Ashoka Road near India Gate in the national capital. They also had damaged the MIM party board.

The protesters hurled stones at Asaduddin's house and smashed window panes and also asserted that they will continue such attacks in the future. Reacting against the protest and attack in Delhi, Asaduddin had challenged VHP and other party workers to attack his house during his presence.
