London, Jan 9: Tottenham are placed third in the league standings and definitely want to stay there during the second half of the season. But rivals Arsenal and Chelsea, both below Spurs, will try to overtake them at any cost. Andre Villas-Boas wants to bring in quality players during the January transfer window. *Tottenham's recent signing Lewis Holtby snubbed north London rivals Arsenal because Spurs manager Andre Villas-Boas is an 'insanely good manager'.

*Tottenham winger Gareth Bale could make a switch to Spain with Real Madrid for a fee worth around £60 million. The Welshman is ready to part ways with Spurs at the end of the season.

*Joao Moutinho is on Tottenham's radar once again after the club missed out on the Portuguese during the summer. But Spurs are planning to offer Porto only a cut-price deal for the 25-year-old.

*Tottenham are keen on signing Barcelona striker David Villa during the January transfer window.

*Andre Villas-Boas wants to sign £20m-rated Brazilian striker Leandro Damiao from Internacional this month. Damiao has been on Spurs' shortlist during the London Olympics and are considering a £15m offer to bring him to White Hart Lane.
