London, Jan 6: Arsenal have failed to stick to their top-four position this season and fans criticise the management of selling top players to rivals. Manager Arsene Wenger has already signed players during the summer but now needs better players to keep their Champions League spot. The Gunners have been linked with high-profile players and with a budget of nearly £70 million, expect a busy transfer window at the Emirates Stadium. *Arsenal have been trying to persuade winger Theo Walcott to sign a new contract extension at the Emirates stadium but talks between the club and the 23-year-old have stalled due to the players wage demands.

*Relief for the Gunners as manager Arsene Wenger has allowed Walcott to play in a more attacking role upfront and has also agreed to sign a new five-year deal worth £90,000-a-week in wages.

*Arsenal are in line to move for David Villa from Barcelona. The 31-year-old Spanish striker has had less playing time with the Catalans and is ready to move on with several Premier League clubs wanting him. Gunners are clearing out four players to raise funds for the £16m-rated forward. But Arsenal face competition from La Liga side Atletico Madrid.
