London, Jan 6: Arsenal have failed to stick to their top-four position this season and fans criticise the management of selling top players to rivals. Manager Arsene Wenger has already signed players during the summer but now needs better players to keep their Champions League spot. The Gunners have been linked with high-profile players and with a budget of nearly £70 million, expect a busy transfer window at the Emirates Stadium. Here is a look at all the possible transfer news and rumours for Arsenal.

*Arsenal have been trying to persuade winger Theo Walcott to sign a new contract extension at the Emirates stadium but talks between the club and the 23-year-old have stalled due to the players wage demands.

*Relief for the Gunners as manager Arsene Wenger has allowed Walcott to play in a more attacking role upfront and has also agreed to sign a new five-year deal worth £90,000-a-week in wages.

*Arsenal are in line to move for David Villa from Barcelona. The 31-year-old Spanish striker has had less playing time with the Catalans and is ready to move on with several Premier League clubs wanting him. Gunners are clearing out four players to raise funds for the £16m-rated forward. But Arsenal face competition from La Liga side Atletico Madrid.

*The North London club are linked with another Spanish striker Adrian Lopez from Atletico. But boss Arsene Wenger feels £14 million for the young striker is more and is ready to offer around £10 million.

*Arsenal are ready to offload Russian Andrey Arhavin with Reading and Fulham interested. Marouane Chamakh has already completed a loan move to West Ham United while defender Johan Djourou is set to join Hannover on loan for the rest of the season.

*Wigan Athletic midfielder James McCarthy has been on Arsenal's radar after consistent impressive performances. Gunners are ready to offer £8 million for the 22-year-old.

*Arsenal are ready to wait until the summer to sign Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard. The 34-year-old's contract expires at the end of the season and the Gunners face competition from Manchester United.

*Montpellier captain Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa has been linked with Arsenal since the summer transfers. The 23-year-old would cost around £3.5 million.

*Manchester United winger Nani is a shock transfer target for Arsenal. Manager Wenger feels United have to consider Robin van Persie's transfer and allow the Portuguese winger to join the Gunners. Nani, 26, has fallen out of favour at Old Trafford and is likely to move on during the winter transfer window.

*Southampton have warned Arsenal that young left-back Luke Shaw is not for sale. The 17-year-old is wanted by several Premier League clubs but the Saints are determined to keep him. The Southampton youth academy has produced players like Theo Walcott, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Gareth Bale.

*Arsenal have offered Napoli and Chile striker Eduardo Vargas on loan. The 23-year-old is keen to move on after failing to settle down in Naples.
