An angry father of the Kerala girl has filed a complaint with the cyber cell of Kerala Police after a family friend discovered that the girl's photo was being shared on Facebook, say media reports.
Police sources say they are investigating the matter. "We will soon get hold of the tricksters who have posted those pictures," said a police official.
"The picture which is doing the rounds of the social networking website is that of a pretty, smiling girl in a kurta with another picture of a visibly ill woman being attended to by doctors in an inset. The photo comes with a caption that claims the girls in the two pictures to be the Delhi gang-rape victim," say TV reports.
The brutal gang-rape of the 23-year-old paramedical student has caused nationwide outrage. Protests are on across India to demand justice for the victim, who has succumbed to her injuries in a Singapore hospital on Dec 29, last year.
Protesters are demanding capital punishment to all the six men who sexual and physically assaulted the victim and her male friend in a moving bus in the national capital.
The issue is getting lot of attention on Facebook and Twitter. But, many people are engaging in voyeuristic pleasures over the issue and posting of Kerala girl's pictures is an example.
