Endless agony: 20-year-old woman stabbed to death in Delhi
Police said the duo, Neha Yadav and Gaurav Kumar, 24, both employees of a call centre in Noida, were returning home when they were attacked near Dallupura timber market, just a few walks from Ashok Nagar police state.
Police sources said around 5.10 pm, a driver called Devender, 24, who claimed to have known Neha for over a year, stopped his motorcycle in front of their car and engaged in a quarrel with Gaurav. Soon after, an angry Devender smashed his helmet against the car's window and Gaurav quickly came out of the car and approached a policeman on the opposite side of the road for assistance.
Devender stabbed him in the cheek but yet he managed to flee. When Neha tried to sstop Devender, the latter stabbed her several times in her stomach, said an investigative officer. The killer also abused the woman while stabbing her. A police team nabbed Devender and the injured duo was taken to Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital. There, Neha was declared brought dead while Gaurav was undergoing treatment. He was not able to speak due to the deep injury he sustained as a result of the stabbing.
Devender was arrested. It was learnt that he committed the crime after Neha had allegedly spurned his love about a month ago. He said Neha's family had rejected him on caste ground.
