After Delhi Gangrape, now a woman assaulted in Kolkata bus
A group of people staged a protest against Kolkata police who failed to take any action against the accused. The victim allegedly was stripped and sexually assaulted in a bus.
According to eye-witnesses, the accused was trying to force himself on the victim who screamed in agony. After hearing her screams, locals reached to the place and succeeded to rescue her. They also handed over the accused to two police officials. Surprisingly, the accused managed to escape from the spot.
Thirty-six hours on, the police have no clue about the whereabouts of the accused. The cops also have been accused of refusing to file any complaint regarding rape, rather they insisted the woman to lodge a case of molestation.
It seems that the police of the country are yet to take any lesson from the protest against Delhi police who allegedly had failed to control the outrage over the recent infamous gangrape in the national capital.
A 23-year-old girl, a paramedical student, was raped by six men and later was thrown out of a moving bus. The girl has been battling for her life in the ICU of Safdarjung Hospital. Police arrested all six accused.
The gangrape enraged the aam-aadmi (common man), especially youths. Massive protests were held at different parts of the country, especially in Delhi. The violent clashes that broke out in Delhi in the wake of a brutal gangrape left over 140 people injured.
Delhi police constable, Subhash Chand Tomar, who received severe injuries during the protest, died in a hospital.
