The young girl, whose parents feared for her career and life, finally discovered a new path ahead. She got admission in Muzik Lounge School of Audio Technology in Chennai for a two-year course in sound engineering.
The engineering college admitted Rinu to the course without a mandatory interview. Rinu's admission to the college without a mandatory interview has ignited controversy. Many have started raising question as to why would she get admission to a music school because of what she did?
Rinu was arrested when she "liked" a comment on Facebook posted by her friend Shaheen Dhada allegedly criticising Mumbai's bandh over Bal Thackeray's funeral. After being detained briefly, the two girls were let off.
Charges against Rinu and Shaheen have not been dropped yet. However, Maharashtra government had taken strong actions against those police officials who were responsible for their arrests.
The two young girls had deleted their Facebook accounts when they were released. However, despite being harassed, Rinu and Shaheen once again have shown courage. While Rinu is already back on the social networking site, Shaheen too will follow her friend soon.
"I have not yet joined Facebook, I plan to do that next year maybe in January. I have heard that some people have created a page on Facebook in my support. But I haven't seen it yet. Right now, I am on a break," said Shaheen, adding, "The last few days were like a bad dream for me. So much happened in these last few days, I just don't want to talk about it. All I want is to come out of all this."
