29-year-old woman Air Force officer commits suicide

Jodhpur, Nov 28: 29-year-old Anandita Das, Squadron Leader in Indian Air Force, committed suicide on Tuesday, Nov 27.

Her body was found hanging from a ceiling fan inside her residence, informed Jodhpur police on Wednesday. Mrs Das, who hailed from Kolkata, joined Indian Air Force in 2006 and was a ground duty officer.

Police informed that her body has been sent for postmortem. One of the police official was quoted as saying, "She was found hanging from the ceiling fan in the wee hours today. The body has been shifted to Mahatma Gandhi Hospital for post-mortem."

Meanwhile, a Court of Inquiry has also been ordered into the case, informed Defence spokesperson SD Goswami.

Mr Goswami also said, "Police investigation is on and we will extend full cooperation to the police investigation."

Mrs Das's husband, who is also a pilot in the Indian Air Force, has not made any comment yet. Jodhpur police have lodged a case of suicide.
