Murder case: Aamir Khan's efforts work, one more arrested

Mumbai, Nov 27: It seems that Bollywood actor Aamir Khan's efforts to pursue the Uttar Pradesh police to take action in Bulandshahr murder case started influencing the cops. One more person has been arrested over suspected honour killing case in which one of the participants of Satyamev Jayate was shot dead allegedly by his wife's family members.

28-year-old Abdul Hakim and 26-year-old Mehwish got married without their family members' consents. Both of them were staying under the protection of an NGO in Delhi. They appeared in one of Satyamev Jayate episodes hosted by Aamir Khan and revealed that how their family members were threatening them.

Hakim and his wife reportedly had come to visit to his ailing mother near Adoli village in Bulandshahr district. While returning from a local police station, Hakim was allegedly killed by Mehwish's brothers.

The woman earlier had said, "They would not let us live in peace and now they have taken their revenge," and also added, "They have killed my husband, they will kill me now. I am 9 months pregnant. My husband would have been alive if police protection was provided."

Earlier on Monday, Nov 26, Aamir had expressed his concern for the victim and his wife saying, "Disturbing and unfortunate incident. Will speak to the government authorities in UP to help and ensure the family is safe."

"The culprits must be brought to the book. The case is registered on the basis of right facts," added the actor who is playing a role of a cop in his upcoming movie Talaash.
