Subramanian Swamy calls Karuna illiterate, hurls filmy bomb

Subramanian Swamy
New Delhi, Nov 26: When M Karunanidhi and his party officials were busy in demanding fresh debate in Parliament over CAG controversy, Subramanian Swamy joined the bandwagon with sharp criticism on the DMK supremo.

Calling Karunanidhi a mere "cinema people", the Janata Party chief on Monday, Nov 26 said, "If DMK debates 2G they will make asses of themselves, they are cinema people, Karunanidhi is illiterate."

Swamy's strong criticism followed DMK leader TR Baalu's move of submitting notice for a special discussion, igniting the controversy over media reports showing the loss figure in the 2G issue had been "inflated exponentially".

Balu in the notice claimed that lapse in CAG report on 2G spectrum scam could be assessed "thorough discussion into the audit practices and constitutional mandate of the CAG."

Karunanidhi earlier had strongly demanded for a multi-member CAG. The DMK patriarch said that the recently held flopped auction of 2G spectrum, which netted only about Rs 9,000 crore, had proved wrong the top auditor's report pegging the presumptive loss in 2G allocation.
