UEFA Champions League: Galatasaray vs Manchester Utd Preview

Istanbul, Nov 20: Manchester United will expect a hostile crowd in Istanbul as Galatasaray fans back their home side when they host the Premier League giants at the Turk Telekom Arena on Tuesday.

Though Sir Alex Ferguson will field a young and inexperienced side after clinching a spot in the knockout stages, Galatasaray, who are joint-second in group H, will hope to clinch three points with an eye towards qualification.

The Turkey giants are level on four points with CFR Cluj, who play bottom of the table Sporting Braga, and in the end it may all come down to goal difference if the Romanian side get the better of their Portuguese opponents.

Galatasaray boss Fatih Terim is without any fresh injuries as Czech defender Tomas Ujfalusi is the only major doubt with a injured knee.

Former Arsenal right-back Emmanuel Eboue and former Bolton Wanderers striker Johan Elmander are expected to start for Turkey side.

Manchester United are expected to hand starts for fringe players as Ferguson plans to rest some of his big names.

Phil Jones is expected to return after being named on the bench in the loss against Norwich City. The England international will make his first start of the season.

However, winger Nani, suffering from a hamstring problem and long term absentee captain Nemanja Vidic are set to miss the clash in Istanbul.

Trivia:

*Burak Yilmaz hat-trick against CFR Cluj on match day 4 makes him only the second Turkish player to score a hat-trick in the UEFA Champions League.

*This is Manchester United's 17th successive UEFA Champions League group stage campaign.

Probable Lineups:

Galatasaray (4-3-3): Muslera-Eboue, Cris, Nounkeu, Balta-Altintop, Inan, Melo-Bulut, Yilmaz, Amrabat

Manchester United (4-3-3): Lindegaard-Rafael, Jones, Wootton, Buttner-Anderson, Carrick, Fletcher-Young-Welbeck, Chicharito
