Mumbai, Nov 19: Just a day after Bal Thackeray's funeral, Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan on Monday, Nov 19 expressed that he was stirred while returning from the funeral of the Shiv Sena supremo.
While tweeting, the Bollywood star said, "As I drive back from the funeral, two poster images stir an emotional chord. One : the word 'Swargiya' before Bala Saheb's name .."
"A poster of a rudraksha mala around a chest, the thread broken and a rudraksha seed falling away. Caption : 'mala tutli'," added Amitabh Bachchan who was one among those people who were present when Bal Thackeray's last rites were performed at Shivaji Park on Sunday.
Amitabh, who is also known as Big B, was moved by the respect shown by Shiv Sainiks and other Thackeray followers. Showing his gratitude towards the crowd at Shivaji Park ground, Big B also tweeted, "The silence from the 2 million gathered at Shivaji Park during the last rites, demonstrated two things - the respect for Bala Saheb Thackeray and secondly the deep ingrained culture of the Maharashtrian ... 'sanskaar' !!!"
The Shiv Sena patriarch breathed his last at his residence Matoshree in Mumbai on Saturday. His son Uddhav and other family members organised a grand funeral procession creating history in India. At least 50 lakh people reportedly joined the procession to bid farewell.
